About TIC Americas
The Talent and Innovation Competition of the Americas (TIC Americas), will develop the extraordinary inter-American business potential of innovative young entrepreneurs with sponsors from the thirty-four Member States of the Organization of American States (OAS) and around the world.
A new initiative of the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT), a private sector initiative of the General Secretariat of the OAS, TIC Americas offers priceless opportunities to reinforce young entrepreneur and corporate marketing campaigns in highly visible, tangible ways by:
1.- Connecting with the future of business that our extraordinary, enterprising young entrepreneurs embody.
2.- Being recognized globally and in the context of the OAS as leading young entrepreneurs and corporate citizens of the Americas.
TIC Americas goes beyond business plans to incorporate extended training, mentoring, and prototype phase to test the project’s feasibility in the real market. Awards will include financial prizes, incubation, internships, as well as promotional and networking opportunities. This year its central themes will focus on trade, technology, energy, tourism and agribusiness.
YABT formally launched TIC Americas in December, 2006, followed by an on-line Semi-Finals competition running through mid-April 2007. The regional TIC Americas Finals on-site event will be held in Panama in June 2007 just prior to the XXXVII Annual General Assembly, Private Sector Forum of the Americas, and related civil society activities of the Organization of American States.
Winners of TIC Americas will enter the Global Talentpreneur Innovation Competition (Global TIC) in Taiwan in August 2007, bringing together TIC Asia and TIC Americas. YABT is now identifying young entrepreneurs, collaborating universities, and potential sponsors to be included in TIC Americas now and through 2007. The earlier contestants and sponsors get involved the more they will gain in TIC Americas’ opportunities and publicity.
