Taiwan Provincial Highway Route 24 (32k + 890) No. 1 Bridge Restoration Program after Typhoon Morak Disaster happened at August 8 2009
The Taiwan Provincial Highway Route 24 Bridge No. 1 (Yilla Bridge) is located at the junction between Sandimen and Wutai, Pingtung County, across Yiliaobei Creek. The original bridge was destroyed by the flood caused by the Morakot Typhoon in August 8 2009. It is a continuous section prestressed concrete box girder bridge with spans of 80+2@140+80=440 meters. The bridge approach consists of prestressed concrete box girders with span of 34 meters and 4@45=180 meters. Three construction methods where utilized in the elaboration of the bridge: a balance cantilever method, full-shoring method, and an advanced shoring method. The local tribal community named the structure as “the bridge of Life.” After completion it was renamed as "Wutaiguchuang Bridge".
