Although Ankeng Interchange, Freeway No. 3 has enhanced the development of the local district, it also caused a huge traffic problem. In order to release vehicle congestion, the government proposed a feasibility study on Ankeng, Expressway No.1 in 2001. New Taipei City government has followed the feasibility study to proceed with construction works and tries to build a traffic network to integrate the traffic from both Ankeng Interchange, Freeway No. 3 at the two sides of Xindian river. Meigui Rd. to Antai Rd. The road extending from Meigui Rd. to Antai Rd. is 1.23km long and 37.5m wide. It will contain a 12m wide pathway at the central section for LRT use. The two adjacent pathways will posses two 3.25m wide expressways and one 2m wide slow traffic lane. Anhe branch line The Anhe branch line is located at the South mountain area of Ankang road in the Xindian District of New Taipei City. The branch is currently the access road of local resident to NO. 111 County Highway. Since the project has around 49 m in height difference from the intersection of Ankang road and Anhe road, the design of the project will be separate from that of the LRT.
