The total length of main line for this project is about 34.715km.  The scope includes widening from 2-lane to 3-lane for embankment, bridges and culverts on each side.  In addition it also includes improvement for three interchanges (i.e. Chiai, Shuei-Shang, Hsin-Yin), one toll plaza, one service area, and one engineering office.  The design feature for this section is fixed on landscape design along the main line and beautifies the roof shape of toll plaza.  Besides remolding the outlook of building in service area, the scope also added one "fast through service" for small car passengers.
