The National Museum of Marine Biology/Aquarium is a reinforced concrete structure located in Checheng, Pingtung County, Northwest of Kenting National Park (South of BaoLi creek). It has a total area of around 97 hectares. The project started in 1991 and in 2000 was opened to the public. It is a very complex exhibition compound with outstanding features. The building encompasses the main hall (steel structure), various theme pavilions, the maintenance facility, the logistic facility and substations.
