The Bitan Bridge adopted South-North two-way split design, with total 781.5m long, is one of the crucial bridge in Freeway No. 3 which is located at downstream of Bitan Scenic Area. The main bridge across Hsintien river, adopted 3 span continuous prestressed concrete box arch design, together with upside down triangular shape pier supports which create a neat and modern expression comparing with the adjacent historic Bitan Suspension bridge, and became the landmark of Hsintien district. Both the streamless expansion design to enhance the road quality, as well as the cast-in-place cantilever construction method for the main span of arch bridge, all are belonging to an innovative, cutting-edge design which has promoted the bridge construction quality in Taiwan.
