一只非常饥饿的狐狸看见一串串熟得发黑的葡萄挂在葡萄架上。牠贫尝试所有方法和力气，想要把卜萄摘下来。但在用尽力气，精疲力竭下，仍无法吃到卜萄。
最后，牠掉头离开，为了掩饰牠的无奈，牠说：「我认为这些葡萄是酸的，尚未成熟。」
The Fox and the Grapes by Assop
A famished Fox saw some clusters of ripe black grapes hanging from a trellised vine. She resorted to all her tricks to get at them, but wearied herself in vain, for she could not reach them.
At last she turned away, beguiling herself of her disappointment and saying:"The Grapes are sour and not ripe as I thought."
